Australian Time Users Group

Welcome

What are we all about?

The Australian Time Users Research Group was formed in 2008 to encourage and support the use of time research in Australia. Our members investigate diverse areas such as work-life-family balance, leisure and social time use, transport and travel time, children's time use and valuing time.

The group is comprised of various state and federal departments and institutes and members from the higher education field in Australia and overseas.

We aim to:

  • raise the profile of time use research in Australia
  • explore policy directions for future research so that the research will attract more funding and commercial support
  • develop guidelines for time use research methodologies and;
  • encourage greater use of time use surveys by government and academic bodies
